Here’s a pop quiz for you (don’t worry – it’s an open-book test)…
- Would you like to feel more energized and alive?
- Do you want your life to feel more meaningful?
- Would you like to make more of a difference with your life?
If the answer to any or all of those questions is “Yes!” – then huzzah! You’re in luck. That’s exactly what I plan to focus on as I dive into this new blog.
What’s this blog about?
Each and every one of us has the potential to change the world for the better. Not just through big impressive do-gooder efforts, but through how we show up in our everyday lives.
At the heart of maximizing that potential is a fundamental sense of aliveness – a YOU that feels energized and open. A you that feels a core sense of connection, both with yourself and the world around you.
I’ll be talking about your inner work, your work in the world, and the ways the two are inextricably interconnected. The internal and external components of your life are actually two interconnected aspects of one holistic ecosystem. What happens in one affects the other.
This blog aims both to open the door to a greater aliveness and to enable you to apply that aliveness to your work in the world.
This blog will explore ways you can feel:
- Happier
- More energized
- Less stressed
- More resilient
- More grounded and centered
- More open
- More heart-connected
- More aligned with meaning & purpose
But it’s not just about feeling better. It’s also about the difference you make along the way. The better you feel, the more positive the day-to-day ripples you create naturally are, and the more energy and inspiration you have to put into any efforts you make to leave the world a better place.
I’ll be talking about your inner work, your work in the world, and the ways the two are inextricably interconnected. The internal and external components of your life are actually two interconnected aspects of one holistic ecosystem. What happens in one affects the other.
In a nutshell, this blog is about helping you create a more energized, meaning-filled, impactful life.
What will you find here?
Well, the short answer is, “Whatever helps you fill your life with energy, meaning, and impact.” A longer answer includes posts on:
- Feeling more energized
- Reducing stress
- Neuroscience
- Psychology research
- Spiritual-ishness
- Living a meaningful life
- Making a difference
My tendency tends to be more towards the pragmatic and applicable rather than the warm and fluffy (though if any of my posts make you feel warm and fluffy, well hey, who am I to judge?).
Beyond that, all I can say is, “Start reading and see where it goes!” In a way, I’m just taking dictation for the message that wants to find its way through me out into the world. I’m excited to see where it will take us.
What inspires me
Before I go, I want to share a bit about me. Fifteen years ago, I hung out my shingle as a Passion Catalyst – a career coach focused on helping people find passion in their careers.
Previously, I had experienced the misery of being a professional malcontent in an ill-fitting career. And with my coaching work, I discovered what it was like to be doing work that aligns with who I am and what comes naturally. The difference was night and day, and I was on fire to share a path to that experience with others.
I still do career passion work, but my focus and direction has evolved. I’m on a new mission, one that involves integrating your inner work with your work in the world. It inspires me what a mobile point of positive impact we all have the potential to be in our lives.
Today I do my work in the world through coaching, speaking, and writing. My areas of focus include:
- Career passion
- Stress management & resilience
- Meaning, purpose, and making a difference
They all integrate the following questions to varying degrees:
- What energizes me?
- What feels meaningful?
- How can I leave the world better than I found it?
Wrapping things up, I will say that I have no idea where this blog will ultimately take us, but I do know that I am more excited to start writing than I have been in years.
So join me for the adventure of discovery – let’s see where this puppy goes!
